1st Bike Decision sv650 - sv1000

Hey all 1st post here, gonna join the club soon.I found a 2008 sv650(full fairings)and 2005 sv1000n(front head fairing only)for the same $3k for good condition and both around 7k miles.I'm 5'11 150lbs and have never ridden before but I do build bicycles with motors so I zip around the city with gears and stuff.​Now I'm not sure which to get. People say the 650 is lighter which is better considering I live in a city but I dont know if I will get the bang for my buck missing out on a 996cc for the same price. I will ride commuter and out of the city for nicer rides ,and mileage isn't that important considering it's a bike for fun. I'm fairly responsible and I take things slow as I can respect a new machine and my limits but the SV's have linear powerband regardless. I want to be able to enjoy the acceleration of a quick bike and both are similar 0-60 as the 1000 later pushes higher numbers.People also say the suspension and brakes are better on the 1000 but they still swap gsxr forks??Idk I'm leaning to the sv650 as I feel like it'll be more fun and zippy as I'm on the lighter side but I've heard much praise from the 1000.​P.S. This isn't a pissing contest. I want to hear your opinions of the two compared and what yall think best suits me.
