Is traction control worth it on the street?

Seen a lot of fans of traction control for track days, but I'm a commuter and wondering if traction control is worth a $1k premium. It rains a lot in my area which is why I was interested, but it appears to me that TCS would be effective in keeping the rear from sliding out under heavy acceleration, but not as effective in a sudden loss of traction situation, e.g. if I hit a patch of gravel or oil while cleaned over.Any thoughts? via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/cypfto/is_traction_control_worth_it_on_the_street/?utm_source=ifttt
