Inexpensive gear for a first track day?

Looking to try a track day and to work on my riding skills. I need a race suit and was wondering if any of you had some recommendations. Itd be a lot easier to get the wife more happy about it if I don’t spend an arm and a leg for the gear. Any help is appreciated. As of now none of my gear will work for a track day (mesh jacket, short gloves, and modular helmet).
