Could have been worse. Laid down the bike for first time.

Been riding for about 4 years now, but still feel like a noob. Was commuting home in some light rain and someone turned out onto the rode and pretty much stopped. Couldn’t swerve into oncoming traffic or into the fence and trees on the other side, no ABS, tried to stop but got locked up and slid. Little banged up but I’m ok. I just keep replaying it in my head and I don’t know, any thoughts on what I could have done differently? Feeling bummed. What do I do from here? Turn signal busted off and bike wouldn’t start, handlebar on the clutch side feels loose.
