Want to get into riding, however personal issues might make that problematic.(Looking for advice)

Just as a bit of a preface I've always like the idea of riding a motorcycle. I've ridden a push bike for most of my life and I understand there are major differences but I'd like to think a motorcycle is the next step. I'm 16 at the moment so I probably won't even get one for a few years. I am also completely aware of the extra skills and extra dangers there are when riding. When I was really young, my dad's brother died in a motocycle accident. I didn't really know him but he seemed to be a good guy. This has led to there being a stigma in the family around riding motorcycles. My dad and grandma both used to ride, and while my dad still talks about motorcycles a bit and seems to have for the most part gotten through it, I don't think he would be on board with the idea of his son riding one. My grandma has also said she never wants me to go near one.I understand where they are coming from and I think it could be inconsiderate to go out and get a licence, after what they went through. However I am also my own person, and at least after I move out or turn 18, I should be able to make my own decisions.I know that if I do decide to get a bike, I will wear all my gear every time I ride, and I'll do the proper training and make sure I'm ready to go out on the roads. And it could still be a while before I actually get one, but I'm trying to get a feel for what I should do/how I should talk to them about it.P.S Sorry about the bad formatting, I'm on mobile. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/cmmx5g/want_to_get_into_riding_however_personal_issues/?utm_source=ifttt
