Finally riding again after 8 years

The last running bike I owned was about 8 years ago. It was a 1980 XJ650.I loved that bike and always have regretted getting rid of it. I trade it away for an old Chevy truck that I ran into the ground a year later then parted out.Well, in a surprising turn of events I traded an old Chevy truck that I had sitting around for a couple years for my new (to me) bike!Pics may be in backwards order: https://imgur.com/a/JenyYi0When I got it, the previous owner had stripped and sold off all the fairings and turned it into a pretty sorry excuse for a Street fighter. I've never been a huge fan of that look and I'm slowly returning my 93 Katana back to its former glory. It'll never be perfect again, but if I can get a couple good seasons out of her I'll be a happy man.Aside from 2nd gear being a jerk, and slipping out after 6k rpms it runs well, but I can't imagine I'll be fine with that forever, and the plan is to ride this until I can afford to buy something newer, or at least in better mechanical condition. After so many years of not being able to ride it feels so damn good to finally be on a bike again. Definitely feels a bit rusty though, and I plan on getting into a safety course asap, as my wife would kill me if I died riding and I want to take whatever precautions I can. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/cu8nkl/finally_riding_again_after_8_years/?utm_source=ifttt
