Feher ACH1 air-conditioned helmet

So I bought one of these, figuring I'd give it a try.First, the most important thing you probably want to know - does it work?Yes, it does. It uses a peltier cooling system, and if you're hot enough when you turn it on, you can immediately tell the difference.Today wasn't overly hot in SoCal - only around 80 here inland in the valley - and the helmet has pretty good airflow, so the effect wasn't overly noticeable when at speed on the freeway. It keeps you from getting overly hot - it doesn't make you feel cold however.I also realized from this experience that my Neotec 2 has relatively poor airflow, even with the vents opened. The Feher with an open chin area was getting significantly better airflow/cooling even with the A/C turned off.There are a few unfortunate downsides however, that would lead me to not recommend the current iteration of this helmet. I believe they are all fixable however.Cord management is a major problem for this helmet. The cord needs to plug in to both the helmet and the connector attached to your bike's battery. Both of these are simple press-fit connectors and it's easy for them to come loose. In a worst-case scenario, you could even lose the cord if both came off.While these shouldn't have a hard lock on them - as that could pose a safety risk in an accident - something that required a few pounds of force to pull off - such as a magnetic connector - could keep it from accidentally coming off while also not rigidly tying your head to the bike.The helmet doesn't have quite the fit-and-finish of a high end helmet such as my Shoei Neotec 2. The visor doesn't really lock when lowered, and as a result there is some rattling at higher freeway speeds. A more secure snap-closed latch would fix this.I'm going to try to figure out a solution for the cord issue, because I really would like to use this helmet for longer weekend rides in hot weather.
