This is kind of embarrassing, but I'm in my 40's, never been on a motorcycle before, and just got my motorcycle learners permit. All the abate classes in my area are booked for the year. So what should I do to learn to ride?

So like the title says, I really want to learn to ride this year. All the nearby abate classes are full, and I don't have any friends that ride. Also my friends and family are not supportive. They think riding is stupid. They've told me not to do it, and that I'm being dumb.But man, I just want to enjoy myself and have some fun while I'm still young enough and physically able enough to ride.So do I just go online, find a used honda rebel for $1500 and figure it out, or is there a better option?Also, helmets.
