I got stopped for speeding at around 3 AM today. This trooper stood next to me waiting patiently for me to take off my helmet and remove my ear plugs before starting to talk. He was all business while conducting the stop. After he was done, he patiently stayed in place behind me to protect me from traffic while I got all of my gear back on and re-stowed my paperwork and backpack, then shut off his headlights so I could see past him to safely re-enter traffic. And above all, he let me off with a warning (even though he got me dead to rights at 15 over).Mercifully, I don’t get stopped too often, but the few times I have it has been a painful event. It’s not malicious but there is an unfortunate lack of awareness on the part of law enforcement about how it works on our side. That’s why I appreciated this trooper: He put himself in my place and did what he could to make it easier for me. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/ch6fm1/shout_out_to_the_maryland_state_police_trooper/?utm_source=ifttt
