Morning all,Soo yesterday I laid the bike down and went for a tumble. I had my helmet, gloves, boots and regular jeans on (no jacket; I’m kicking myself for that right now). I’ll be definitely getting some actual motorcycle jeans now—Minor scraping on my knees. Everything did it’s job but I do have a scraped/road rashed elbow and a hell of a sore body right now.I keep analyzing what happened and what I could of done better. So basically about 4 cars up the person was making a left turn (I think at the last minute) and we were on a 2 lane road (speed limit was 55mph I believe). The 3 cars in front of my slammed their brakes and I did the same. I believe my front brake locked up(no abs) and I started fishtailing and went down maybe doing 30mph by that point..I wish I had taken the escape route onto the shoulder to avoid all that but didn’t. Or released the front brake.. but didn’t. Once I stopped rolling I immediately got up and ran to the grass and laid down. Surrounded by 4 people within seconds asking if i was okay. Police and fire showed up within a couple minutes. I got checked out and rode back home slowly with a snapped off front brake lever. It’s hard to think of these things in the moment but will do better next time. And ATGATT.I think the bike will be okay, just a few minor repairs. It could of been a lot worse and am thankful I didn’t hit anything or anyone else and will use this as a learning experience. I think ABS would of helped a lot maybe... Thoughts, comments? Thanks via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/cfydhw/my_first_fall/?utm_source=ifttt
