I had no idea

I've been a sport bike during my 5-ish year riding "Career". Combine that with living in large cities, I never really rode anywhere particularly far. Going out at 2 AM riding for an hour or two on empty roads in the cool night air was how I enjoyed myself.Last week I bought a bike designed for riding the distance. Upright sitting position, large enough and tall enough to not be cramped, windshield actually works etc. Sunday morning I went to ride Route 66 to a small town and check it out, then ride home.Going out on that ride kinda changed everything I've known about motorcycles. I was comfortable then entire time, I ended up riding for 4 hours and feel like I could've gone for 3 more no problem what so ever. I had a destination, but it wasn't the point - the point was I was out alone on my bike, smashing at 80 mph on fun curvy roads and seeing cool shit along the way.You know that feeling when you come back from camping for a weekend and just feel "alright"? Like, even keel and chill? Thats the feeling I've had since I got back from that ride, still feel that way and it s been a day and a half. Tomorrow I plan on riding a couple hours in the other direction, seeing what happens. And I cannot. freakin. wait.Moto camping is next!Just wanted to share =-) if you're newer to riding and haven't spent a day out on the road, you need to do it. leave the city behind. i can't believe it took me so long to do this and im never looking back. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/cgmh2b/i_had_no_idea/?utm_source=ifttt
