Hey all, at about 3am Saturday morning on my way to work, I was in an accident. A pretty bad one, too. I broke my left radial bone and my right collarbone as well as tearing the ligaments in my left wrist along with a ton of road rash. I now have 16 screws, 2 plates, and two rods in me. But the reason for the crash is the kicker. While I was doing 40 along a county road, a drunk guy stumbled out into the center of my lane about 10-20 feet ahead of me, giving me zero time to react. I don’t remember anything from the moment of impact to me laying on the side of the road in agony, but I’m lucky and quite thankful my phone didn’t fly somewhere never to be seen again, because I used the rest of my strength to scoot towards my phone and dial 911. All while trying to keep my cool while I’m in severe pain and this guy is screaming about his leg. Something that struck me as odd was that a white Camry came towards us and almost ran me over, hit my bike, and just kept on driving. It made me glad I was on the edge of the road. Anyways, I was taken to the hospital and treated and now I have to wait six weeks to be functional again, but my main point is to not let another person(s) idiocy ruin something you love. I could have easily died that morning and yet I’m not put off by the possibility of that happening, I just simply cannot wait to fix up and ride my bike once more. I understand that sometimes it’s hard to pick something back up after it’s almost killed you, but please don’t let someone else ruin something you love.Sorry if this is a little rambley or scatterbrained, I’m still in a lot of pain and on a lot of drugs. Always wear your helmet (I’m glad I was), and drive/ride safe. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/cdqsf1/a_reminder_to_not_let_others_define_you_and_how/?utm_source=ifttt
