So I went for a ride last night and today from Anchorage through Glennallen and across the Denali Highway on my XJ550 Maxim adv. I knew the roadhouse on the East end was abandoned, I was surprised to find the Cantwell station had recently failed. I was packing a couple gallons of gas, ran all the way out at 246 miles, made the last couple to Trapper Creek on Coleman fuel (mixed with the dregs the pick up couldn't quite reach - maybe 25 octane?)Road has a little pavement at the beginning and some chip seal in the middle plus plenty of calcium chloride - a real good time. No tire problems but had irons and plugs and patches and would bring them next time too. Very little traffic and wide enough to pass most places even on a holiday weekend.I imagine any bike could do it. My little old UJM upright cruiser standard didn't blink, didn't even bottom the rear end more than usual.I really encourage all of you to take your machines the wrong place!http://imgur.com/a/ahgMZVQ via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/caf1m3/248_miles_between_gas_stations_today/?utm_source=ifttt
