My brother in law made a surprise visit to the in laws lake house two hours south of here on Friday so I drove my wife to visit for the weekend.Saturday morning I was getting ready to go for a ride and I thought that this is the perfect opportunity to take a long ride on my 2005 Honda Rebel.Up until this point I really have not taken more than a 50 mile ride. So I set my goal at 150 and headed out. This was my first sustained highway speed ride. Up until now I am usually off the highway in 10 miles or so. This ride was over 100 miles on I90.I exited the highway and meandered through western Mass until I reached the NYS and home. (We live 15m fom Mass)I looked down at the odometer when I finished and was at 200.4 miles for the ride.Things of note to me:1: It turns out 250cc is enough to ride on a highway. For me anyway.2: Another 250cc or so would be nice. My Rebel can sustain 65 to 70, but it takes a while to get there.3: The Rebel is an absolute joy to cruise around the mountains on. Just a relaxing bike and hums at 45 to 55.4: Tolls are harsh and my MPG are fantastic. I spent more in tolls than fuel!I am keeping an eye out for a bike with ABS that's a little more off road friendly (Going to Alaska next summer) but for where I live, riding on the highway and mountains my Rebel is awesome. Going to be sad when I replace her for sure. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/cd2fb6/200_miles_in_one_day_on_a_250cc_honda_rebel/?utm_source=ifttt
