Should I tackle painting the tank or forget it?

I need to paint my plaatics, figured I'd do it this weekend since it's the first time I haven't had plans in a couple months. But, I can't decide if I want to tackle painting the tank at the same time. I'm just doing an easy rattle can paint job. Sand, couple coats of primer, sand with a higher grit, couple coats of color, high grit/wet sand and finish with a clear coat it.
