Missing Ram Air Scoop. Needed?

So I bought a used track only 2009 GSXR 750. I am still somewhat a noob, so when I bought it, I did not realisze that it was missing the entire Ram Air Scoop things on both sides. I have an old parts GSXR that I could take them off of. This weekend is just the racing school. How important are the ram air scoops?
