I've been riding, shooting guns for over 20 years and spent years working in loud factories while in college. You'd be surprised at how many people don't know how to properly use foam ear plugs.Step 1: roll the earplug between your right thumb and first two fingers until it is roughly twice as long and about 1/8-1/4" thick.Step 2: continue rolling the earplug in your right fingers. As you continue rolling the plug, reach behind your head with your left hand and gently pull backwards on your right earlobe with continuous force. This opens the ear canal. Next, quickly insert the thinly rolled earplug into the ear canal. The idea is to get it inserted all the way to the ear drum and let it expand to fill the ear canal completely. Do not press it directly against the ear drum. It should barely touch the ear drum and not cause discomfort. When done properly only 1/8-1/4" of the plug will stick out of the ear canal and you will quickly feel the plug expand to fill the entire ear canal.Repeat for the opposite side.I can't count the number of times I've seen shooters and riders use earplugs incorrectly. Use them in the correct way and you will save your precious hearing. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/btmneg/how_to_properly_use_and_insert_foam_ear_plugs/?utm_source=ifttt
