So I am working on a '78 KZ400 and just cut off the ugly duck bill tail but have ran out of funds for now. It will be a while before I can pay a shop to install my seat loop and new seat and I was wondering if they are structurally needed or just there to support the seat. My stock seat doesn't touch the rear of my bike and is supported from underneath it so a loop wouldn't help any there. Am I safe to ride it while I wait to get the loop welded on or am I just stuck looking at it until then?TLDR: Is it safe to ride after cutting the tail off without a seat loop if the seat doesn't rest on it anyway? via /r/CafeRacers https://www.reddit.com/r/CafeRacers/comments/b8xszk/dumb_question_about_seat_loop/?utm_source=ifttt
