Original post here.Just wanted to say thanks for all the advice and encouragement. I was in a pretty bad place and I decided to suck it up and do it again. You guys are great, and I'm excited to be finally (legally) be part of this community.I was fortunate enough to have a private instructor who let me practice on his range. He was very good at identifying what was wrong (spoiler: basically everything you all told me), and got me to improve quickly. I was definitely overthinking things.This happened several days ago, so I've already bought my first bike (Harley Street 750 - get your laughs in now, it's fine). I've said it before, and I know it's cheesy, but this is a dream come true, and it feels great.I'm a bit older than the average starting rider, so I'll see what happens from here as far as finding riding friends goes.
