I thought of this today while I was commuting on my Rebel 250 on I-10 at 41 degrees F. Even though the throttle was pinned, my ass was going numb, I was getting passed by semi trucks, and the cold wind was blowing me around, I still walked into work with a smile. So I would say an enthusiast is someone who can have fun riding, regardless of the motorcycle and route. Doesn’t matter if the bike is fast or slow, cruiser or sport bike, there’s fun to be had riding anything and anywhere.I know a bunch of boneheads with more money than brains who street race their stretched/lowered liter bikes with no mirrors on potholed-riddled roads, all for bragging rights. I swear they spend more time cleaning their chains than actually riding. I don’t think they actually enjoy regular riding much, and they don’t fit my idea of a general motorcycle enthusiast. My RC51 is no slouch, so I understand the thrill of speed, but these guys would laugh at the idea of swinging a leg over a 250.I’m curious to hear what you guys think! via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/aci72p/in_your_opinion_what_separates_someone_who_just/?utm_source=ifttt
