Slower on an R1 than a 600 SRAD?

I used to ride an old 600 and knew what it was going to do everywhere, so I could throw it around and trust it.I bought a 5PW 2003 model R1 last year, and the bike is better everywhere, but I feel slower.The two bikes weigh about the same, bit the Yamaha feels slower to turn, like it needs more effort. This is especially true through chicanes.I took the Yamaha to the Isle of Man this year and it was the same; awesome through Brandish, heavy through Parliament Square, slapped some through Beggarrow.It's 95% me being slow and useless, but is there a tweak to the suspension that would make the bike lighter/quicker side to side, without inducing instability?I'm currently at pretty stock settings with two extra clicks of rear preload.My riding style looks most like Kevin Schwartz; ass off the seat a ways, head still over the tank. via /r/Trackdays https://www.reddit.com/r/Trackdays/comments/a4gunq/slower_on_an_r1_than_a_600_srad/?utm_source=ifttt
