I just had my 18th birthday in June and I wanted to ride a motorcycle since long before and could not wait until I finally was able to do so.I worked really hard to be able to afford my dream bike but right before buying it I was still struggling with myself because several people including my parents wanted to persuade me into rather investing my money into a car (I live in a rural area in Germany). And of course, I know a car is way more practical but on the other hand I just didn't want to miss that fun in my life I would have with my motorcycle. So instead of doing the logical thing, I did go for the motorcycle because I know I would always regret it if I didn't at least try it.And it was the right choice! I had so much fun in the summer riding through Germany almost 15.000km and met a lot of new people, discovered places I otherwise would not have known of and all in all, I had a great time!Of course, I often had situations where a car would be way more practical especially since I moved out of my parent's house but I still have to say it was worth it!So to all young people out there who are thinking about getting a motorcycle I can just share my story with you because if you also struggle with a similar decision you have to make a decision for yourself and really need to think about the pros and cons but it is not all about logic and (I know this sounds cringy) sometimes you just have to listen to your heart and do what makes you fun!(Couldn't withstand adding a picture of my bike, sry for the showoff: https://imgur.com/VyUtElh ) via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/9ttd4o/my_first_season_as_a_motorcycle_rider_ended_and_i/?utm_source=ifttt
