Hi everyone;I'm relatively new here. I would like to share with you a photo of my 1978 GL-1000. I bought it a year ago August. Last winter and into the spring, I took it apart, cleaned it and put it back together. I didn't open the engine, (I left it in the frame) save for replacing the timing belts and setting the valve adjustment.I did do the carbs and had help with the synchronization after. I also set the ignition timing and so forth. I had to paint the exhaust because the chrome was scratched and rusty. I took the chrome shields off the exhaust manifolds for the same reason. The pipes are sound though, and don't look too bad in black.I also left the radiator scoops off, as one of them had been damaged while the bike was in storage years ago. I think it looks better without them anyway. This bike has 32,000 km on it, which is just under 20k miles. It passed the requirement for Collector Plate status, which means I save about 75% on insurance. The bike now lives on Vancouver Island in BC Canada.https://i.redd.it/4tvkjff0h7z11.jpg via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/9ycw51/my_1978_gl1000_good_enough_for_a_collector_plate/?utm_source=ifttt
