Is it me or my tyre?

I’ve recently bought myself an SV650 as a daily commuter after a period of around 8 years without owning a bike.A couple of days ago I noticed the back end felt somewhat lacking and was sliding around more than I was happy with but it was quite greasy out and I put it down to my riding and lack of confidence after so long out.2 nights ago it started raining just before I left work and the ride back was horrendous - the back end was all over the place despite me being as careful as I possibly could with the throttle and not touching throttle or breaks in the bends.I’ve started to wonder if t could be a bad tyre rather than just me, or if the tyre isn’t great and my lack of riding for so long is exacerbating the issue.It’s got a Dunlop D222 on the back at the moment, quite a bit of grip left on it but it’s dated Dec 2013 so it’s getting on for 5 years old.Worth putting something else on it or do I just need to ride more and build my confidence back up? via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/9zcini/is_it_me_or_my_tyre/?utm_source=ifttt
