HRC: How to jointly develop two bikes for extremely different riders?

More often than not, I have seen riders with similar styles in the same team. That way, inputs from one rider are helping to the other rider as well.

But this year, it will be Marquez and Lorenzo. Two riders with extremely contrasting styles. One swan-like, silky smooth and easy on the tyres while the other is like a bull-fighter - untamed, visceral and raw.

Yet, the engineers at Honda will now have to develop bikes that are very contrasting in nature. Won't that be a bad use of resources? Since what works for Lorenzo is very, very unlikely to work for Marc and vice versa?
