After almost ten long years of dreaming about owning and riding a motorcycle - thanks to this scene from Tron: Legacy - it's finally happened. Two days ago, I went to a dealership some 30 minutes away and bought a new 2019 Kawasaki Ninja 400.Now, I know the advice is to get a shitty beater bike as your first, but with all due respect to the sub's collective wisdom, I had the income, the inclination, and the need. Used bike market where I live is somewhat dead, and I decided I wanted ABS for sure.Yesterday, I strapped on all my gear and jumped on for the first time (at least since I completed the MSF course a few months back). Nothing crazy, I just rode around my neighborhood a few times. Went smoothly, but holy hell, did the adrenaline start pumping. I stopped because I could tell I was way too nervous to ride. But no worries; little by little, right?Only negative is that stupid me braked at a stop sign with the handlebar just a little too far to the left. Cue my brand-new bike tipping over slowly, kind of like when your dog is feeling real lazy and it just plops on down. Thankfully, I managed to "catch" it on its way to the pavement. Very minor scratches on the left fairing, mirror, and the clutch lever. No problem, though. Just learning scars. I'm sure the bike will pick up quite a few more.In any case, I'm sorry if this post seems like empty spam - I just wanted to share my excitement, happiness, and slight anxiety with you all. I'll be asking a lot of questions on this sub over the next few months, I'm sure. Here she is: https://imgur.com/a/cutMhF6 via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/9y9rod/10yearlong_dream_achieved/?utm_source=ifttt
