I got in a wreck Wednesday afternoon when I was on a narrow two lane highway riding with my buddy. We came around a corner and pick up truck was halfway into my lane. I swerved and avoided hitting him but there was no where to go. As soon as my front tire hit the gravel, I hit the pavement left side of my face first and shoulder. My buddy said I slid about 20 feet . My bike has some minor cosmetic damage the exhaust bracket broke off my jug.I walked away with a broken ankle, road rash on my knees and bruises all over the left side of my body. If I hadn’t been wearing full protection, I would be dead. I live in AZ so when it is hot I sometimes don’t wear a jacket. I will never not wear full protection when riding again. Lastly, I am so glad I purchased a Simpson helmet, it was pricey but it prevented me from a serious head injury and my face from being mangled. As a Harley rider, a log of guys don’t wear helmets or proper protection. No matter what you ride, please protect yourself!Ride safe brothers! via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/9nll14/the_importance_of_safety_gear_and_how_it_saved_my/?utm_source=ifttt
