Newbie rider feeling welcomed

Hi guys,I have some nice things to say:I ordered a brand new 150cc scooter last week. The shop lent me a temporary 6yr old 125cc scooter while I wait for the 150cc to arrive. The 125cc has been both a blast and a pain.I've been driving a car for over six years, and riding bicycles since I was little so I thought the experience would be similar to one of the two but it's unlike anything I've ever felt before. I just hop on and go anywhere. Fast like a car, exposed to the environment like a bicycle. I absolutely love this part because I am more aware of my surroundings and not stuck in a bubble. The painful part is the scooter has broken down on me twice in one day. It's been because of silly things like the spark plug wires falling out or a fuel pressure vaccum hose falling off when going over a bump. Both times, I was a sizeable distance from home (I had to push it back 3+miles because I didn't know what was wrong). I'm just grateful the shop owner has been so eager to help me fix it, and has even came over to my house to fix it for free.I also want to say how thankful I am to the motorcycle community here in my state. The scooter I'm riding is goofy looking. Despite this, every other motorcycle rider seems to smile/wave/or throw peace signs at me. This makes me happy. The last time I broke-down, it was around 9pm, and somebody with a Honda Rebel came and did his best to try to fix my problem, even though he admitted he knew nothing about scooters. I asked him why he cared so much and he told me he started on a 200cc motorcycle, and respected anybody on two-wheels.I just wanted to say that I feel very welcomed by this new-found community that I would not have stumbled into had I not given it a chance. If you guys are anything like the rebel rider or the other riders I encountered, please pat yourself on the back - you deserve it!Thanks!! via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/9o18so/newbie_rider_feeling_welcomed/?utm_source=ifttt
