ARmor pad insert question

Hiya all I have a quick question​I recently bought a Joe Rocket Jacket, It was 50% off at the local honda store, Which was great as its the only way I could afford it! Ive worn it for about two day and its pretty awesome, But tonight at work I was examining it closer, Wanting to check out the armored inserts and see what level they are since its 'gently used' as I was told in the store. Both Shoulder and Elbow inserts crumbled into pieces when I removed them! They were definitely old and crumbly, The Back insert is bright blue and new. But I digress, How interchangeable are the inserts? Are they kind of one size fits all?
