Long time lurker but I got a chance to use this sub's expertise today.

It literally just happened. I went to merge onto the highway (from the left) and a Mini Cooper cuts me off going about 10-15 mph over the speed limit, gives me the finger and pulls a brake check. After reading all the stories on here, I've learned to simply move over to separate lane, rather than engage. He speeds up and times his lane change so that he's within inches on my front wheel and brake checks again.I'm seething and I'm sure my heart rate has tripled at this point but I kept this sub in mind, didn't engage, and waited until my exit to get off.I live in NYC and there's not much you need to do to set off a driver here. I'm more than certain that any interaction I would've had with the driver would have escalated the situation so I am glad I have been reading up on this sub's wisdom about how to handle aggressive drivers. I'd like to think I've increased my patience after this experience because it took everything bit of strength not to return the anger. But I'm saying all this to say thanks for your help and please continue to share your stories, you never know who is reading! Now back to swooning over this sub's bikes and journey pics. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/9dhwrd/long_time_lurker_but_i_got_a_chance_to_use_this/?utm_source=ifttt
