Sequential gearboxes, why aren't they common on cars?

In the context of cars, a sequential gearbox with straight cut gears and dog box engagement is firmly in the territory of hopelessly impractical, noisy, harsh, track/racing only cars. And yet (almost) every motorcycle, 50cc dirtbike, 100cc poverty commuter, 1000 pound cruiser/tourer, 200 hp crotch rocket, comes equipped with one. Manual sequential is the holy grail of transmissions, very fast shifts (can be as fast as DCT), durable, light, cheap, engaging and smooth at the same time (none of that torque converter sloppiness, can be smoother than DCT because you can clutch in while shifting), and manual clutch for wheelies and drifts.Car people argue that dogboxes, sequentials are harsh to shift, clunky, noisy. And yet, I haven't ridden a single motorcycle that couldn't be shifted smoothly with clutch. I find motorcycles much smoother to shift gears than the manual car I own and other manual cars I have driven. Noise I understand, but its not like sequential dogboxes can't be made with helical gears to keep the noise down. Straight cut gears are stronger for the same size, but cars have lot more room to work with.Does the smoothness go away when the gearbox has to manage a lot of power/torque? Panigale v4 makes more power than small sports cars like Fiesta ST, BRZ, Miata. Triumph rocket 3 makes about the same torque as these cars. Is it the weight of the cars that precludes a smooth sequential? Is it economics? I can't help but think the disastrous Ford Powershift DCT could be more cost effective than a good old manual sequential. OTOH People who want to and can operate a third pedal are already a small minority. Some of whom are purists and want only H-patterns. Sequentials were barely ever sold in cars so few non-motorcycle people even know they might want them. Why don't super hardcore enthusiast cars like Lotuses, Alfa 4C, Ariel Atom, don't offer a manual sequential option? via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/95u75p/sequential_gearboxes_why_arent_they_common_on_cars/?utm_source=ifttt
