If you're going to use exhaust wrap...

I see a lot of bikes, cafe racers mostly, with exhaust wrap that has been wrapped starting at the top of the exhaust pipe down to the muffler. The right way to do it is start at the bottom of the exhaust and wrap up to the cylinder head. That way, road crud doesn't build up on the edges of the wrap and I think it just looks much neater.
