Girlfriend Ran Me Over

My girlfriend has been riding for no more than 15 days on her own bike and we were cruising on a fine afternoon. We made it custom to use hand singles to inform the other where we're turning. So we are about 5 miles from the house just beginning our trip and at our first major turn. We come to the stop light and stop without chatting but I pointed to the left and was on her right side, indicating that we needed to turn left. When the light turned green I let off the brake and released the clutch easing into the middle of the intersection waiting for the cars going straight to pass. When all was clear I proceeded to turn left when out of no where my girlfriend comes flying from behind like a maniac on a 5000cc Turbo H2CBRRR scraping and taking everything non removable with her. I believe I was at fault for not over taking her before the turn to position myself on the left side but she was wrong for taking my mirror and paint.
