Bandit 1250 for first track day?

My current bike is a 2008 Bandit 1250 and I'd really like to get into riding on the track. Ideally if I'm into it I could save up for a dedicated 600cc track bike.How bad is this beast going to be to ride on a track? It's my daily so I'd really like to not wreck it.
