Be warned, rant incoming.I work in the construction industry. Riding my bike to the onsite office was never an issue previously as we have onsite pickup trucks to move material and run errands. Then our company safety manager informed me that I could no longer park my bike within the limits of construction (right-of-way area in which we are allowed to freely move equipment and materials). that sucked, but no problem- I just parked a little further down the street. Then, I was told that after a meeting with our company insurance agents that no bikes were allowed to be used as commuter vehicles as the company is "liable for me on my commute". I was also told however "if you are riding to an established parking lot, like the home office, that would be ok". I was later told, however, that this was not ok.Personally, I don't know how real the insurance meeting information is. I think the real problem is that I'm dealing with some biases here:-Attitude that "bikes aren't practical", "bikes are dangerous" etc.-The thought that "Yer a man in construction you need a TRUUUUHHHCK", which I don't. I've got a mitsubishi outlander sport, also known as "the grocery-getter"-Bias against "crotch rockets" (anything that isn't a Harley)I don't think there's anything I can do to change this as i'm one of the few people that ride motorcycles, and one of the only ones that wants to commute to work on one.Anyone else dealing with this kind of BS? via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/90fskd/anyone_else_not_allowed_to_commute_to_work_on/?utm_source=ifttt
