An example of motorcycle, being invisible in traffic

This happened recently..Me in car, commute. Morning traffic, low sun which is front of me.Paying attention to traffic (good habits ingrained from 2 wheel commuting). Certainly not messing around with cellphones, i keep those locked away while driving,Enter intersection.. Usual looking around.. At the last minute in the intersection I'm startled by a rider on a scooter in the opposing left hand turn lane. Scooter guy was inching forward waiting to turn. But if he'd turned left when i saw him, i would have crushed him.No accident, but the what if did startle me, why didn't I see him? Before entering the intersection i looked straight at the opposing left hand turn lane and saw a big pick up truck. Probably an f350, real big.But i never saw the scooter till i was nearly right beside himHeres what made him invisible.Being in front of an enormous truck, scooter guy didnt have an outline or silhouette, was completely 'inside, the pick up's profileThe low sun in front.. Cast a dark shadow on the scooter guy so made it hard to seeLow sun in front naturally makes everything just a bit harder to see cuz squinting, sun visor etc...Scooter guy didnt have headlights on..Anyways, while riding, i take responsibility to make myself seenAnd while driving, take responsibility for observing traffic properly.. Here i failed to spot the existence of the scooter guy till it was too late, and am happy scooter guy didnt decide to turn left in front of me..Take away from this what you will via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/8k4mts/an_example_of_motorcycle_being_invisible_in/?utm_source=ifttt
