Ohlins Steering Damper - Frame Bracket Question

Dumbass me went and bought a used Ohlins Damper off an '05 r6 assuming it would: a) fit right up to my '04 OR b) i could easily find the correct frame bracket. Now, after reading the installation manual, i see the 05 bracket only bolts to the left gas tank bolt, whereas the 04 frame bracket covers both the gas tank bolts... Go figure, Ohlins no longer make this old ass bracket. As i expected though, The 05 bracket appears to line up perfectly on my bike, given that the 03-05 generation are extrememly similar. So my dilemma is, can i use the 05 bracket safely on my 04? As long as it is a true fit, is it really a concern that the frame bracket uses 1 bolt instead of 2?Seems to me like ohlins realized in 05 that there was no need for 2 bolts to hold the damper frame, and saved some money on the design for the 05 bracket. all while making the brackets "incompatible" so the old dampers cannot be swapped to the newer bike.Any thoughts appreciated! via /r/Trackdays https://www.reddit.com/r/Trackdays/comments/8eeyl3/ohlins_steering_damper_frame_bracket_question/?utm_source=ifttt
