Fan vs. Enthusiast

Is it just me? Moto GP fans seem to be fans of a given rider and become toxic about their rivals, to an extreme level. I’ve always been an enthusiast of the SPORT, while being a fan of a given rider or team during a given era: Kenny Roberts Sr. Was my first; VR is my latest. I can still appreciate Barry Sheen and MM.
