How much did you spend on your first bike

I’ve been on this sub for years and every single person on here says you should never spend over $1500 on a bike. Every single bike listed on Facebook marketplace and craigslist is $3000 and up. Even non-running bikes are going for $2200 for a 74 CB 750. Where on earth are you people finding these running, good to go bikes for under $2000?I’ve also heard the non-running $1 per cc rule of thumb.
