Newish to MotoGP, can someone give me a breakdown?

As the title says, I say newish as I’ve always caught races here and there but never got deep into following full time. There’s a lot of things I don’t know that I’d like to, so if anyone out there would be kind enough to explain the basics of the league, the basics of the sport as well as anything else you could deem crucial or helpful to someone who’d watch races, I’d really appreciate it.
