[Opinion] How is this era of MotoGP meant to be the most competitive? 2006-2016 was clearly better

When I say "this era" I am referring to post 2016 Michelin era, because before that there was still actually competition and title battles.

1) In this era, the most competitive rider after Marquez is Andrea Dovizioso. The same Andrea Dovizioso who wasn't much faster than Iannone, got destroyed by Pedrosa let alone Stoner (fair that was in 2011) and lets not forget in 2018 second half many were saying Dovi looked slower compared to Lorenzo and Lorenzo would beat him soon, which I agree with.

2) Rossi is still very good but 40 and Yamaha always has some problems, Vinales cannot get used to the bike, Quatratoro is like a rookie rn.

3) On the other hand Lorenzo is not the same as he was on Yamaha bike, and gets injured all the time, like its judging a man while hes being kicked down. Same with Pedrosa post Bridgestone with Michelin.

4) Everyone else is either on Satellite or cant provide a challenge...

Compare that to the actual most competitive era of MotoGP in my opinion, 2006-2016 ish. This was after the new branch of aliens (Stoner, Pedrosa in 2006 eventually Lorenzo in 08 and Marc much later) arrived at it wasnt just Rossi murdering the whole field, arguably even worse than the Marquez domination right now. The field wasnt as close together but in terms of the quality of the riders it was the most competitive, you had:

1) Rossi: 2008 and 2009 are what really cemented his legacy to me, he was a beast those seasons. Winning against Stoner and Lorenzo >>> winning against Gibernau and Biaggi

2) Lorenzo: Yamaha Lorenzo was amazing, most dominant season ever in 2010, also he beat Marquez Rossi and Stoner in their primes lol

3) Stoner: One of the fastest, second or third to Doohan imo, we all know he had a shit bike still won races dominated when it was actually competitive.

4) Pedrosa: People forget the beast he was in his prime even if he didnt win a premier class title. I mean he is the Moss of F1, maybe better.

5) Marquez: 2014 and 2016 were amazing, rookie season was good too, his titles then vs good Yamaha + good Lorenzo Rossi are more impressive then now were his best competitor is fucking Dovi, and Rossi on a shit Yamaha and injured Lorenzo to me, like Rossi 2008-09 titles against Jorge and Stoner is more impressive than winning against bums.

So we have like 5 of the best riders ever in their peaks or close to it, so many good supporting riders too (Edwards, Hayden, Simocielli, and more I forget) not this post Bridgestone, Michelin era shit which is either the legends becoming old/injured/retiring, rookies either being disappointments (Zarco so far) or too young to judge (god I hope Quartoro is competitive) and leaving place for only one team and rider to win. Yes the whole field is closer together now, because of tyres and ECU regs, but actually in terms of riders and even top manufacturers it isnt true at all. I know the fanbase is pretty brutal here, still not as shit as F1, but when biased fans of certain riders try to claim early 2000's was best when Biaggi was the second best, like the Dovi of his time (I rate Biaggi higher than Dovi personally) it makes no sense. Same when biased fanboys of another certain rider say Michelin era is more competitive era I have to wince. Its like a Doohan fan saying mid 90's post Rainey/Schwantz era is most competitive lol.

TDLR: 2006-2015/6 most competitive era in terms of riders in this century, it had the most riders in their peaks comparatively to other eras. Fan bias leads to clouded judgement of this matter.
