Hey im watching superpole right now and it has me thinking about the current state of Superbike and what everyone else thinks.
I used to love SBK. During the era of James Toseland, Ben Spies, Troy Baylis, Troy Corser, Noryuki Haga i believe the racing was better than the Moto Gp. I spose it was during the time that Rossi was dominating everyone but man, there was some seriously good racing in the Superbike. I used to watch every single GP and SBK race.
During that time i believed on the right bike, nearly all of those guys could have raced and won in the Moto Gp. I was probably wrong the more i think about it, Spies, Toseland and Baylis all had pretty good bikes, Haga had a go at GP and didnt set the world on fire.
But watching SBK now i dont have that feeling anymore. I dont think any of these guys could push the GP guys. Maybe Rea and Bautista could be middle tier riders, but the rest dont really excite me at all.
I would love to get into SBK again but it almost feels like a retirement/GP rejects home.
Anyway that was a bit of a rant but i was just interested to see what other people think. I would love to get back into Superbike again but no matter how much i try it really struggles to interest me. Btw on a quick note having qualifying tyres during superpole is a joke. I thought those things got thrown out ages ago!
