My name is Jue Hou, Ph.D. Candidate in the College of Communication and Information Sciences, University of Alabama. I would like to invite you to participate in a dissertation research study about eSport, called "Competitive Sport in Web 2.0: Consumer motivation, spectatorship experience and the degree of overlap between traditional sport and eSport.”
I hope to find out motivations that drive fans to watch eSport and traditional sport in the modern era. Specifically, I want to understand how the industry of eSport and traditional sport can learn from each other and achieve greater success regarding enhancing the spectatorship experience for fans, as well as attracting viewers who may not be interested in eSport or traditional sport in the contemporary climate.
Taking part in this study involves completing an online survey that will take about 15 minutes. Questions in this survey are generally about your eSport or traditional sport spectatorship experience, as well as potential motivations that made you choose them as something to watch in your daily lives.
