Is the Screamer V4 like a flatplane Ferrari V8 with the outer four cylinders (outer two of each bank) hacked out?

...As far as I know, a Screamer Inline Four is just a flatplane crankshaft ....Is the KTM V4 like the Ford Taunus ad Essex V4 engines? I feel Flatplane engines are very intuitive in design and very easy to visualize eyes closed...Cross Planes,Inline Sixes and V6s donot have such elegant symetrical design
