Can the pit crew remotely tweak the bike's settings during a race?

I have read here that before the spec ECU, the RCV has a learning AI that tweaks the traction control on the future laps if it detects a tire slip on the current lap. I find this quite interesting and I wonder if the team can make real time changes on the bike from the pit box. Is this the reason why they are always paying attention on the telemetry and data during a race? The electronics part of MotoGP seems to be shrouded in secrecy. It would be nice to learn more about it.
