Phillip island 2018

I plan on going to the races this year, flying out of SF. I want to be there the entire race weekend, and I have some questionsI'm flying into melbourne, what day do I have to leave SF to get to Phillip island by Friday? Do I have to leave Wednesday SF, which makes it Thursday Australia, and land Thursday SF which is Friday Australia ?How do I get to PI from Melbourne?Best place to stay? Camp there? Or should I just stay in a hotel on the island?Should I land a few days earlier to get used to the time change?Thanks for the help
