The Rossi / Burgess 80 second Ducati - What was actually said?

Just thought this deserved a post of it's own when I posted a reply to another post here on r/motogpI personally think it's a funny jab used often and my post is not in defence for VR / JB, but it's silly when people use the 80 second remark for hate and it seems like a lot of people are clearly misinformed and use it at times too often to put another person in replies down and have a silly "war". Hopefully the below context sheds some light. The "fix the bike in 80 seconds" was honestly not what was said but more like poularized by Stoner later and a lot of the critics. Below is the actual interview and reading in context makes much more sense ; seeing how so many new generation of viewers are coming onboard I think it should be put out there, also with clear evidence of how things get twisted so easy for silly PR gains by news outlets etc. What does Valentino like in a bike?“He likes a bike that has grip and that would be front and rear. But you have to maximize the package, but I can see that Casey and Nicky run quite different settings on the bike, just from observations of the geometry on the bike.”Which would Valentino be closer to?“Difficult to say, without knowing where the weight is on the bike and how it behaves. But, without question, I don’t anticipate any major dramas. I can watch some of these lesser riders on the Ducatis and you can see that the bikes are, in my opinion, unsuitably set for what they want to try and do with them. I’m not saying anybody’s doing a bad job. I see these things wobbling around. When I think, clearly, if we had that issue with Valentino it’d be fixed in 80 seconds, but some riders don’t like the hardness of the bike, because they don’t get the feel. But then when they’re riding around and it’s too soft they’re not going forward either. So you’ve got to be able to create the feel with the hardness to avoid all that sloppiness. I don’t think there are any issues in the bike that are a big worry to me. I think the bike is just a tool to do your job. You sharpen the tool at the race track, you don’t build it. you should be able to adjust it to what Valentino wants. And until we’ve got a race or two under belts, we won’t really know how close we are or how much better we’ve made it. but if we can make it, as it stands here today, good for Valentino, then it’s probably not a bad bike. Then we just have to wait and see what happens.”https://www.sportrider.com/news/scoop-jeremy-burgess-talks-about-his-move-to-ducati-rossi#page-3I even read someone out here claimed Stoner was offered a pay check higher than any f1 driver in his final year to ride one more year for honda (14 mil) but it was actually higher than Honda ever paid any F1 driver not "any F1 driver".People either skew deliberately or chinese whisper or just delusional while being biased unfortunately. Not to mention even news outlets fuelled this by removing certain bits for obvious reason I'm guessing.Below is the exact thing from above with missing bits.As for how competitive Rossi would be on the Ducati, Burgess was confident that he and Rossi would soon get the bike up to speed. It was clear that the bike was already competitive, Burgess told Abrams, and the issues he saw could be solved relatively easily. "If we had that issue with Valentino it'd be fixed in 80 seconds," Burgess said.https://motomatters.com/news/2010/10/20/burgess_confirms_he_and_crew_will_move_t.html
