I’m looking to do my first cafe racer build. In my area I have found two options that are appealing. A 1982 CB750C garage find that’s in kind of rough condition, has been sitting for 10yrs apparently, no key but the seller says motor isn’t seized can kick over. For what that’s worth. It’s $500. A 1981 XS1100 that’s running so obviously in better condition but it’s $1800. I don’t mind a challenge and would like to get into more mechanical work so I’m not scared of the CB. But I’m a bigger guy and would like a bike that I can ride comfortably. 6ft2in, 210lbs. So I feel the XS would suit me better. But I think the CB might make a cooler project and be easier to find certain parts for. So what would you go for and why? I know a cheap bike can end up costing more to get going in the long run, but it might be more fun to trouble shoot something like that instead of starting off with a runner. I guess I’m tempted by the low cost of the CB. I had a sportster before that I turned into a bobber so not completely novice but no pro either. via /r/CafeRacers https://www.reddit.com/r/CafeRacers/comments/8hxuc7/project_bike_advice/?utm_source=ifttt
