Could the riders feedback be part of the trouble with Yamaha's direction?
When you look at it, they've been running Lorenzo's feedback to develop the bike for the past decade. As soon as he left the team, both the riders they currently run started bickering internally about which bike direction to take and both wanting different things from the bike. The bike then went from something that was winning races at the start of last year, the closest period to Lorenzo's input, now to maybe scoring the odd opportune podium. The trend if anything is going away from competitiveness, not getting closer to it.
